Private Guided Tours of Cambridge 2020

There is no minimum or maximum number of people for a private guided tour, but a minimum fee will be charged if the group is between 1 and 15 people. For groups over 15 people we charge per person and we provide 1 guide for every 20 people in the group. (So, for 35 people we’d provide 2 guides; for 83 people we’d provide 5 guides…) If you’d like to include a visit to a Cambridge College, we will make the necessary arrangements including payment of entrance fees (please see details below).

A 1-hour tour will cover the historic heart of the city including the golden Corpus Clock; the formal and ceremonial centre of the University, The Senate House and Old Schools; stunning colleges such as King’s, Corpus Christi and Trinity (external views) and the Old Cavendish Laboratory, home of world-changing scientific discoveries.

Participants will learn about student life and pranks, see well-known landmarks and hear fascinating insights from more than 800 years of University history.  The tour is led by our highly trained and entertaining Guides who love to share their inside knowledge of Cambridge and are ready to help you make the most of your time, however brief, in our lovely city.

Prices: £6.00 per person (a minimum fee of £90.00 is charged for a group of 1-15 people)

A 1.5-hour tour will cover the historic heart of the city including the golden Corpus Clock; the formal and ceremonial centre of the University: The Senate House and Old Schools; stunning colleges such as King’s, Corpus Christi and Trinity, and the Old Cavendish Laboratory, home of world-changing scientific discoveries.  There is also time to include a visit into one of the Cambridge Colleges.

When it comes to choosing the college, for true ‘wow-factor’ we suggest King’s College* and the magnificent Chapel, one of the finest examples of Perpendicular Gothic architecture in existence.  However, medieval colleges such as the beautiful riverside Queens’ College* or lesser-known Pembroke*; or imposing Tudor foundations such as St John’s* or Trinity* also enable our guides to explain features which are common to all 31 colleges and shape student life whilst highlighting details, events and people which are unique to each one.

The Classic Cambridge tour.  A 2-hour guided walking tour led by one of our highly-trained and experienced Blue or Green Badge Guides.  This tour covers the rich history of Cambridge city and University at a comfortable pace and allows time for entry into one or more of the famous central colleges.

It will cover the historic heart of the city including the golden Corpus Clock; The Senate House and Old Schools – the formal and ceremonial centre of the University; stunning colleges such as King’s, Corpus Christi and Trinity, and the Old Cavendish Laboratory, home of world-changing scientific discoveries.  Participants will learn about student life and pranks, see well-known landmarks and hear fascinating insights from more than 800 years of University history.  The tour is led by our highly trained and entertaining Guides who love to share their inside knowledge of Cambridge and are ready to help you make the most of your time in our lovely city.
